Fall Campaign a Success!
THANK YOU!! Thank you to all of the Monte Vista parents who made generous donations to the Monte Vista Academic Boosters Education Fund during fall registration – see the List of Donors, Fall 2011. Our FREE CLASS incentive program was hugely successful attracting165 new families to join the Academic Boosters this year! We had a record 180 students take the SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test in the commons on September 24th.
The funds raised each year go directly to Monte Vista to purchase class sections which will help the administration minimize class size and help maintain the valuable education program that makes our school so great.

Academic Boosters is entirely run by parent volunteers. We welcome everyone to join us at our monthly meetings where parents and the administration discuss academic issues and explore topics of interest.

What is Academic Boosters?
Monte Vista Academic Boosters is a group of parents and community members who come together to support academics at Monte Vista High School. Working with the administration, Academic Boosters provides funds to purchase extra class sections, supports counseling, and recognizes Honor Roll students. We offer prep classes for college entrance tests, and our monthly meetings provide a forum for parents to discuss academic issues with the Principal, counselors, and teachers. We meet on the second Tuesday of the month – come join us!
How Does Academic Boosters Help My Student?
Each year, Academic Boosters is able to fund between 15 and 20 class sections for our students through the generous donations of our parent community. This is equivalent to 3 to 4 fulltime teachers! Academic Boosters also funds on average one counseling section, which pays for additional counselor staffing. Each spring, Boosters hands out hundreds of certificates, block letters, pins, and candy bars to our Honor Roll students. Finally, over a dozen test prep classes (SAT, ACT, subject tests, and essay writing) are taken by hundreds of sophomores, juniors and seniors to prepare for college admission.

Make a donation today! In these times of uncertainty about State funding for our schools, the only thing we can be certain of is that Academic Boosters funds will be used to support Monte Vista students! Your donations positively affect ALL students in ALL levels of learning in ALL subjects.
We ask that you kindly donate $350 per student. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Please fill in the Donation Form on the back - checks are preferred to save credit card fees.
