If you've attended an Academic Boosters meeting in the past, you know we include a program topic that relates to various educational aspects at our school or for our students. This year, we were asked to cover information about options students have in addition to the traditional 4-year college path. Considering that is a big topic, which could include an overwhelming amount of information, we opted to create the self-guided 'Where Does Your Path Lead?' slide deck for students and families. This covers community college, trade schools, the military, apprenticeships, and more.
Another request was to provide information about specialty programs or schools that offer degrees within a specific field like Art or Music. That information has been included in this same slide deck. We worked with the College & Career Counselor, the Counseling team, Administration, SRVUSD district personnel, and parents whose children have chosen some of these paths. While this does not provide every single resource that exists, it was created to serve as an informative first step in exploring the various post-secondary options available. We hope you find this slide deck and its 100+ links a useful tool. We wish all of our Mustangs luck as they pursue their own path. |

What Teachers Are Saying
What Are Monte Vista Teachers and Our Principal Saying?
"The academic reputation of MVHS is known throughout the college admissions community, and the high regard would not be possible without these extra sections." Jenyth Utchen, English.
“The Math department is fortunate to work in a community that values education. The continued support from Academic Boosters has allowed us to reduce class sizes at all levels while expanding our course offerings to address 21st century needs.” Beverly Davies, Yvonne Spilker, Math.
“Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Monte Vista parent community and through the efforts of our Academic Boosters, we are able to provide a local funding source that provides our students with additional academic sections which in turn creates lower class sizes. Your donation to Academic Boosters has a direct connection to providing your student and the students in your community a quality education." Dr. Kevin Ahern, Principal.
