The purpose of the Monte Vista High School Honor Roll Recognition program is to recognize students who achieve excellence in academics.This program is supported by Academic Boosters in conjunction with the school administration.However, Honor Roll designations are made by the Counseling Department at Monte Vista.
Students who achieve a 3.5 academic GPA (grade point average) are placed on the Honor Roll for the semester.Honor Roll recognition takes place during the spring semester for the previous year’s accomplishments.Recognition levels are as follows:
1-3 semesters on the Honor Roll: Certificate and candy bar
4-5 semesters on the Honor Roll: Above items plus a Lamp of Learning patch MV Block Letter, if not previously earned in athletics, is available upon request
6-7 semesters on the Honor Roll: All of the above, if not already received previously, plus an Honor Cord to be worn at graduation
**GPA is tracked for classes taken at Monte Vista only**
In a specified week during the spring semester, Academic Boosters volunteers will be on campus to distribute the candy bars and recognition items.The certificates will be sent to the email on file with the school for printing at home.
